Metabolic Syndrome manifest itself as:

  • abdominal obesity,
  • atherogenic dyslipidemia,
  • impaired fasting glucose 
  • higher blood pressure 

According to (1), this results in a higher risk for development of cardiovascular disease (CVD) and type 2 diabetes, if not already present

Although easily dismissed at the onset as just a nuisance, it often signals major health disturbances , particularly in heart disease

 

The journal (1) concludes : The aortic stiffness  compared to controls was significantly higher in pre-menopausal women with Metabolic Syndrome

Aortic stiffness could be a precursor of stenosis, which is a narrowing of the vessels. However, the relationship between aortic stiffness and aortic stenosis is likely, but not proven yet (2)
